The Isaac Joffe Fellowship Bursary Scheme 2026 is now open for applications from 2 December 2025 to January 2026. This bursary provides comprehensive financial support for undergraduate students pursuing Electronic/Electrical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering at approved South African universities, including the University of Pretoria.

📌 Allocation Criteria
Bursaries will be awarded based on:
- Academic performance: Exceptional Grade 12 results and/or final 1st‑year results
- Financial need: Only non‑funded applicants will be considered
- Selection process: Includes interviews
📑 Conditions and Obligations
- Applies only to full‑time studies in 2026 for specified engineering fields
- Compulsory annual salaried vacation employment at Cape Gate during December and January
- Assistance provided only for the normal duration of the course
- Renewal is subject to satisfactory academic performance
- Graduates may be required to work for Cape Gate (Pty) Ltd for a period equal to the sponsorship duration, paid at market rates
- If bursars choose not to meet this obligation, they must repay all bursary funds plus interest
