Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 / Standard 8 Technical qualification
- AET Level 4 certification
- Completion of at least one skills program: AA Fitting, Diesel Mechanic, Plater Welder, or Electrical
- Minimum of 1 year of technical support experience as a helper/operator in heavy industry
- Must pass a Psychometric Assessment & Certificate of Fitness (conducted by Exxaro)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the servicing, maintenance, and overhaul of heavy machinery
- Conduct first-level inspections and basic fault-finding on mechanical/electrical equipment
- Support scheduled and reactive maintenance to maximize equipment availability
- Monitor production equipment and report breakdowns promptly
- Perform welding, cutting, and install refractory materials as required
- Uphold stringent health, safety, and housekeeping standards; use PPE and comply with SHEC requirements
- Recondition and test components and spares before returning them to operation
- Collaborate effectively within diverse team environments, demonstrating adaptability and accountability
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation as business needs evolve
