The Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Data Capturer for the Labour and Labour Appeals Court in Johannesburg. Position Details

  • Salary: R193,359 – R227,766 per annum (Level 04)
  • Location: Labour and Labour Appeals Court, Johannesburg
  • Contract: The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • Skills:
    • Computer literacy.
    • Knowledge of clerical duties and the legal framework governing the public service.
    • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.

Shortlisted candidates will undergo a pre-entry practical exercise to assess their suitability based on the technical and generic requirements of the role.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Data Capturer, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and organized data management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Capturing and updating data from records into required formats (e.g., databases, tables, and spreadsheets).
  • Verifying missing data and correcting errors during data entry.
  • Reviewing and validating data for accuracy.
  • Submitting data and maintaining regular backups.
  • Updating registers and statistics.
  • Maintaining organized records and files.
  • Supporting verification personnel by providing necessary data sources and files.
  • Collecting applications for default judgment and taxation from the General Office.
  • Distributing incoming data for capturing and ensuring equal workload distribution.
  • Providing information to relevant components as needed.
