The Limpopo Department of Education (LDoE) has announced the Advertisement of Posts on the Establishment of the Limpopo Department of Education (Public Special Schools).

Applications are invited from suitably qualified South Africans to apply for 26 Permanent Driver/Messenger posts at Special Schools across Limpopo Province.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced drivers who have a Code 10 Driver’s Licence with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) and are passionate about supporting learners and schools through safe transport and administrative services.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate.
  • A valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
  • Three (3) years’ bus driving experience will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants will be required to pass a Driver Competency Test before appointment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

Learner Transport

  • Transport learners to and from Special Schools using designated routes and schedules.
  • Ensure the safety of learners during transportation.
  • Assist learners with safe boarding and disembarking.
  • Supervise learners while travelling.
  • Conduct learner safety drills when required.

Vehicle Management

  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy and fuelled.
  • Report mechanical faults and arrange repairs when necessary.
  • Comply with all traffic laws and Departmental transport policies.

Messenger and Administrative Duties

  • Collect and deliver official documents, correspondence, parcels and mail.
  • Purchase and transport groceries, equipment and institutional supplies.
  • Take learners to clinics, hospitals and other approved destinations.
  • Plan efficient travel routes using maps or GPS.
  • Maintain vehicle logbooks, fuel records and mileage records.
  • Assist with general office support, filing, photocopying and other errands.
  • Provide professional customer service when interacting with parents, staff, service providers and stakeholders.
