Minimum Requirements
- ABET Certificate
- A higher qualification will serve as an added advantage
- Relevant work experience in a similar environment will be an advantage
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of handling gardening equipment and appliances
- Knowledge of general work including lawn care processes
- Basic knowledge of maintenance practices for water infrastructure and facilities
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
- Carry out general maintenance activities including:
- Weed control
- Gardening
- Painting
- Maintenance of fire breaks
- Herbicide application
Infrastructure Support
- Conduct routine inspections on departmental infrastructure
- Perform maintenance on canals, pipelines, dams, servitudes, terrain and buildings
Safety & Compliance
- Report faults, defects and safety hazards
- Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act
- Follow all safety regulations
General Duties
- Load and off-load equipment
- Assist with additional general duties as required
