Requirements
- Education: Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or NQF Level 4 Qualification
- Certifications:
- Grade B PSIRA accredited certificate
- NKP Training Certificate (in line with National Key Point Act)
- Firearm Proficiency/Competency Certificate (in line with Firearm Control Act)
- Experience: 3 years in a security environment
- Additional Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willingness to work shifts (roster system)
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge of security legislation
- Report writing skills
- Teamwork and independent thinking
- Advantage: Certificate in Security Management/Supervision
- Note: Extended working hours may be required
Duties
As a Security Supervisor, you will:
- Support and supervise physical security operations, including:
- Developing rosters and posting security personnel
- Enforcing access control and searching protocols
- Assisting in key management and emergency evacuations
- Conducting after-hours security visits
- Facilitating security officers’ performance agreements and assessments
- Supervise security controllers in control rooms and during escort duties
- Ensure compliance with GPW Security Policy, National Key Point Act, and “No positive identity, No access” rule
- Manage security equipment (e.g., surveillance cameras) and report faults
- Draft rosters and maintain accurate security records
- Assist with firearm and ammunition control per the Firearm Control Act
- Conduct preliminary incident investigations and provide mentorship to security personnel
- Serve as the primary contact for security-related concerns
- Perform routine inspections, identify risks, and ensure proper management of in-house security officers and resources
