The Northern Cape Department of Education is seeking Temporary Examination Assistants for the examination session from September 2025 to August 2026. This is a great opportunity for students to gain work experience while contributing to the education system.
Who Can Apply?
- Second, Third, or Fourth-year students studying at tertiary institutions (Colleges, Universities, or Universities of Technology).
- Preference given to students pursuing a teaching qualification (3rd year level).
- Unemployed matriculants may apply but will only be utilized as needed.
- Residency: Applicants must reside in the Northern Cape (proof of residential address, e.g., municipality account, required). Northern Cape students studying outside the province are also eligible.
- Disclosure: Applicants must declare any relatives writing the NSC Grade 12 exams or working in the Examinations and Assessment Chief Directorate.
Key Responsibilities
- Checking answer scripts/portfolios.
- Hash totalling of marks.
- Data capturing.
- Sorting and packing scripts/portfolios.
- Removing scripts/portfolios from the marking/moderation center.
- Other duties as assigned by the Administrative Manager.
Work Conditions
- Be prepared to work long hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Work will be conducted under surveillance.
