AFGRI Equipment is offering 40 apprenticeship opportunities for aspiring Tractor Mechanics and Earthmoving Mechanics.

With a legacy dating back to 1962 as a John Deere agency, AFGRI operates across South Africa and internationally, providing hands-on training in agricultural, construction, and forestry equipment.

This 3-year apprenticeship programme combines practical workplace experience with structured technical training to help you qualify as a certified artisan.

What You Will Learn

As an apprentice, you will gain experience in:

✔ Tractor or Earthmoving Mechanics
✔ Equipment repair and maintenance
✔ Workshop operations and stock control
✔ Customer service and technical support
✔ Industry-standard tools and diagnostics


Training Structure

  • 6-month probation period
  • 3-year structured apprenticeship

Important Commitment

  • Training is free if successfully completed
  • Failed modules must be repeated at your own cost
  • Includes a work-back agreement equal to training duration

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, you must have:

✔ Grade 12 (Matric)
✔ Mathematics or Technical Mathematics (NOT Maths Literacy)
✔ Valid driver’s license
✔ Basic computer skills
✔ Good communication and admin skills
