About the Role

The successful candidates will inspect, diagnose, service, maintain, repair, and test government vehicles, heavy vehicles, construction plant, and earthmoving equipment while ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 10 or equivalent qualification
• Valid driver’s licence
• Appropriate Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) in Diesel Mechanical

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will:

• Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair vehicles and equipment
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance
• Provide breakdown and field support
• Test vehicles and equipment after repairs
• Maintain job cards, maintenance records, and registers
• Compile technical reports
• Ensure safe use of tools and equipment
• Comply with technical and occupational safety standards
• Supervise and mentor support personnel when required
• Maintain technical skills through continuous development

• Technical fault finding and diagnostics
• Diesel mechanical systems
