Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Higher Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Auxiliary Nurse, where applicable
• 1–3 years’ experience in a primary healthcare, outpatient or clinic environment
• Computer literacy – MS Office

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Assist with preparing patients before consultations
• Receive patients professionally and confirm their identity
• Record patients’ reasons for visiting
• Take and record vital signs
• Assist with basic patient screening according to clinic protocols
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Capture information on the clinic system
• Support Registered Nurses and consulting practitioners
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Follow infection prevention and control protocols
• Keep clinical equipment clean and functional
• Maintain a clean and hygienic pre-consultation environment
• Support efficient patient movement through the clinic
• Escalate clinical concerns to the Registered Nurse when required
