Boilermaker – RCL Foods Oil Plant | Pretoria West, Gauteng

Job Overview

RCL Foods is recruiting a skilled Boilermaker to join the Engineering team at their Oil Plant in Pretoria West, Gauteng. This permanent position reports to the Facilities Foreman and focuses on fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of sheet-metal, structural, and piping components to support reliable plant operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Boilermaker with strong fabrication and welding skills to work in a leading FMCG manufacturing environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Trade Tested Boilermaker qualification (N3 or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3–5 years industrial fabrication experience (FMCG, milling, or facilities environment preferred)
  • Strong sheet-metal fabrication skills (including square-to-round ducting)
  • Proficient in MIG, TIG, SMAW, and oxy-acetylene welding & cutting
  • Experience with air and water pipelines, blow-lines, and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and sketches
  • Willing to work standby, overtime, and during shutdowns

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and install ducting, chutes, blow-lines, guards, platforms, handrails, and structural steelwork
  • Manufacture square-to-round transitions, cones, reducers, and manifolds
  • Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and fabrication work
  • Carry out breakdown repairs and planned maintenance during shutdowns
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards (LOTOTO, permit-to-work, GMP, food safety)
  • Maintain accurate job records and high housekeeping standards
  • Support continuous improvement and coach apprentices where required
