Job Description

Cashbuild is recruiting a General Assistant in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape. This opportunity is open to external applicants and focuses on customer service, merchandising, stock handling and general housekeeping.

Candidates can qualify with Grade 12 without related work experience, or Grade 10/NQF Level 3 plus one year of work-related experience.

Job Details

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have either:

• Minimum Grade 10 or NQF Level 3 plus 1 year of work-related experience, or
• Grade 12 with no related work experience

Applicants must also:

• Be able to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the area
• Have a valid South African ID or work permit
• Be able to perform basic calculations accurately
• Be willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Be able to work under pressure

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Assist customers with products and queries
• Help resolve customer complaints
• Merchandise bulk stock safely according to the store layout
• Ensure stock is merchandised according to planograms
• Maintain correct shelf-price labelling
• Keep aisles and work areas free of obstacles
• Complete required housekeeping checklists
• Follow Occupational Health and Safety requirements
• Ensure stock is safely merchandised
• Report damaged stock to the Store Manager
• Help minimise stock losses
