Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Minimum Grade 10 or NQF Level 3 plus one year of work-related experience, OR
• Grade 12 without related work experience
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the area
• Valid South African ID or work permit
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Ability to work under pressure

General Assistant Duties

Successful candidates will be responsible for providing customer service, assisting customers with products and queries, merchandising stock according to store layouts, maintaining correct shelf price labels and keeping designated areas safe and organised.

General Assistants must also comply with OHSA safety requirements and report damaged stock or other discrepancies to the Store Manager.

2. Cashbuild Forklift Driver – Grahamstown

Position: Forklift Driver
Location: Grahamstown, Eastern Cape
Application Type: External

The Forklift Driver will operate and maintain the forklift safely and cost-effectively while also supporting customer service, merchandising, stock handling and housekeeping activities.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 or minimum one year of work-related experience
• Valid forklift licence
• Physical fitness to operate a forklift
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Ability to work under pressure

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will safely operate the forklift, load customer purchases, merchandise bulk stock, inspect the forklift daily and report faults.

The role also requires compliance with safety procedures, including avoiding forklift overloading, wearing required protective equipment and ensuring customers and colleagues can move safely through the store.

3. Cashbuild Cashier Jobs 2026

Cashbuild is also recruiting Cashiers for stores in:

• Mthatha
• Mbazwana, KwaZulu-Natal

Cashiers are responsible for accurately processing Point of Sale transactions and ensuring goods do not leave the store without being correctly paid for.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 or minimum one year of work-related experience
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately
• Strong administration skills
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Ability to work under pressure

Cashier Duties

Cashiers will process payments, correctly capture products at the Point of Sale, maintain sufficient change, complete cash-ups and ensure daily takings are secured according to Cashbuild procedures.

The position also includes administration, customer service, security awareness and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
