About the Role

Midas is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier to receive customer payments, reconcile daily cash transactions, and maintain accurate financial records. The successful candidate will ensure all transactions are processed accurately while delivering excellent customer service.

Cashier Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Receiving payments from customers for goods and services.
  • Processing cash, cheque, and other approved payment methods.
  • Issuing receipts and ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Reconciling daily cash received against receipts issued.
  • Preparing cash deposits and verifying cash balances.
  • Maintaining accurate transaction records and filing supporting documentation.
  • Performing general administrative duties within the branch.
  • Assisting customers with payment-related enquiries professionally.
  • Ensuring compliance with company cash-handling procedures and financial controls.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this Cashier position, applicants should have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • 2–5 years of cashier experience (essential).
  • Experience handling counter cash and payment transactions.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good administrative and recordkeeping skills.
