Job Description

Applications are invited for 4 Chief Provincial Inspector positions within the Law Enforcement Directorate.

The positions are available at Ventersdorp, Vryburg, Rusternburg and Koster Traffic Stations, with a salary of R605,742 per annum (Level 10).

Applicants must have Grade 12 or equivalent, a Basic Traffic Diploma, a three-year National Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, and the required road traffic law enforcement and supervisory experience.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
• Basic Traffic Diploma.
• Three-year National Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Three (3) to five (5) years supervisory experience at Salary Level 7/8.
• Seven (7) to ten (10) years working experience in the Road Traffic Law Enforcement field.
• A valid relevant driving licence (A and EC).
• No criminal record.

Knowledge Requirements

Candidates should have knowledge of:

• Road traffic and public transport policies and regulations.
• National Road Traffic Act and other relevant road traffic-related legislation.
• Vehicle inspections and impoundment.
• Completion of law enforcement documents.
• Public Service Policies and Regulations.
• Public Financial Management Act.
• Performance Management Development System.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Managing the enforcement of Road Traffic, Public Passenger, Transport Legislations and other relevant legislation.
• Managing joint law enforcement activities and projects relating to cooperative governance.
• Managing risks on public roads.
• Managing the performance of all administrative and related duties.
• Promoting road safety through effective and efficient law enforcement.
• Managing the key responsibility areas of the managed.
