Job Overview
The North West Department of Social Development is inviting applications for six (6) Child and Youth Care Supervisor Grade 1 positions. Successful candidates will supervise Child and Youth Care Workers, oversee developmental and therapeutic programmes, ensure compliance with child and youth care legislation, and promote the wellbeing of children, youth, survivors, and older persons within departmental care facilities.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Certificate in Child and Youth Care
- Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) (proof required when shortlisted)
- Experience in a Child and Youth Care Centre (CYCC) will be an added advantage
- Willingness to work shifts

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Child and Youth Care Workers and monitor the delivery of care services
- Ensure appropriate developmental, therapeutic, and life-space interventions are provided
- Implement and monitor individual developmental plans
- Mentor, coach, and support Child and Youth Care Workers
- Conduct performance assessments and promote continuous professional development
- Coordinate developmental programmes and administrative duties
- Maintain shift registers, incident reports, and logbooks
- Coordinate escorts and liaise with multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and quality standards
- Promote and protect the rights and wellbeing of children, youth, survivors, and older persons
