• Salary: R144 024 per annum

About the Role

The successful candidates will provide environmental hygiene services by maintaining cleanliness, managing waste, and ensuring a safe and hygienic hospital environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Basic literacy and numeracy

Experience

• Appropriate experience in cleaning and waste management

Inherent Requirements

• Ability to work shifts and rotate between departments
• Physically fit and able to perform manual cleaning duties
• Ability to operate heavy-duty cleaning equipment

Knowledge and Skills

Applicants should have knowledge of:

• Routine cleaning procedures
• Waste management practices
• Safe handling of cleaning equipment
• Proper use of cleaning materials and equipment

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will:

• Sweep, dust, mop, scrub and polish designated areas
• Perform deep cleaning of toilets and hospital facilities
• Carry out terminal cleaning in isolation wards, ICU and other specialised areas
• Collect and dispose of waste according to hospital procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout assigned areas
• Clean and safely store cleaning equipment after use
• Use cleaning agents correctly and assist with basic stock control
• Provide support to supervisors and fellow team members
