About the Role

The successful candidate will assist with animal dipping services, livestock handling, disease control programmes, and the maintenance of dipping infrastructure while supporting animal health services within the community.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification
• Valid Code B/EB driver’s licence or higher

Added Advantage

• Experience in animal handling

Skills and Competencies

Successful applicants should have:

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with farmers and community members
• Problem-solving skills
• Livestock handling skills
• Basic computer literacy
• Ability to work under pressure

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Render animal dipping services
• Perform minor maintenance of dipping and animal handling infrastructure
• Assist with animal disease control programmes
• Support vaccinations, treatments, castration, dehorning, and animal restraint
• Coordinate with farming communities and prepare reports
• Count and record livestock
• Maintain correct dip-tank water levels
• Mix and monitor dipping chemicals
• Clean the dip-tank area
• Safeguard dipping chemicals and equipment
