About the Discovery Wealth Management Learnership

The Discovery Wealth Management Learnership leads to a nationally recognised NC: Wealth Management NQF Level 5 qualification.

The programme consists of structured learning components combined with practical workplace experience in the Financial Services industry.

Learners will have an opportunity to develop knowledge and experience relating to financial planning, wealth management, training content and financial services.

Minimum Education Requirements

Applicants must have Grade 12, with the following results:

• Maths: Minimum Level 4 – 50%
• English: Minimum Level 4 – 50%
• Maths Literacy: Minimum Level 5 – 60%
• 2nd Language: Minimum Level 4 – 50%
• An incomplete tertiary financial qualification may be an advantage

Specific Learnership Requirements

Candidates must:

• Be between 18 and 30 years old
• Not be engaged in post-Matric studies or formal employment
• Not have completed any previous learnership
• Have effective written and verbal English communication skills
• Have basic computer skills, mainly MS Excel and MS Outlook
• Be a South African candidate by birth

Wealth Management Learnership Responsibilities

Areas of responsibility may include:

• Supporting financial planning and learning and development specialists in reviewing and developing training materials for financial advisers
• Conducting research on financial products, market trends and regulatory changes
• Gathering and analysing data for training materials, case studies and scenario planning exercises
• Preparing reports and summaries for the development of training materials
• Organising and maintaining a database of training materials and resources
• Collecting feedback from training participants
• Participating in brainstorming sessions to improve training solutions
• Staying informed about trends in financial advising and wealth management
• Participating in professional development and training sessions
• Engaging with experienced CFPs and learning and development practitioners for guidance and mentorship
