Job Description

The successful candidate will operate heavy-duty vehicles, machinery, and sanitation equipment while supporting water and sanitation service delivery within the municipality.

Key Responsibilities

Driver and Equipment Operations

• Operate light and heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and machinery safely
• Transport equipment to and from work sites
• Operate Water Tankers, Hi-up Trucks, and TLB equipment
• Maintain vacuum and chemical toilets in designated areas

Administrative and Reporting Duties

• Record daily water usage and operational activities
• Complete reports and documentation accurately
• Monitor equipment performance and report faults

Maintenance and Compliance

• Ensure machinery and equipment remain in good working condition
• Comply with OHS Act requirements, municipal by-laws, policies, and procedures
• Follow standard operating procedures to reduce wastage and operational risks
• Resolve operational problems and escalate unresolved issues when required

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 10 or equivalent qualification
• Valid Code 14 driver’s license with PrDP
• Relevant operator training certificates
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar environment
• Physical fitness to perform operational duties
