Job Description

Engen is recruiting a Workshop Assistant at the Montague Gardens Workshop in Cape Town. The position involves assisting a Diesel Mechanic with preventative and reactive maintenance repairs on bulk delivery vehicles.

Applicants require Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent, a valid Code B driver’s licence, and at least 2 years of general work experience in a workshop.

Minimum Requirements

• NQF Level – Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
• Valid Code B driver’s licence
• Minimum 1 year general work experience in a workshop

Job Purpose

The Workshop Assistant will assist the Diesel Mechanic with preventative and reactive maintenance repairs on bulk delivery vehicles in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and Engen’s policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Maintenance

• Ensure relevant administration is completed and records are documented
• Ensure workshop procedures are followed
• Maintain workshop housekeeping and cleanliness
• Conduct required inspections
• Report faulty equipment on M.I.T

Customer & Contractor Interface

• Interact with customers and service providers
• Work with contractors to ensure deliverables are met
• Provide internal support to contractors

HSEQ Compliance

• Comply with HSEQ policies and regulations
• Follow PPE, ZETO Rules and STOP Compliance requirements
• Ensure strict compliance with Engen’s health, safety and environmental policies
