About the Role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Front Shop Assistant to support customer service operations and maintain merchandising standards at the Makhado Crossing store. The successful candidate will assist customers, manage stock, process payments, and ensure shelves are fully stocked and neatly presented.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate
  • 0 – 6 Months retail experience

Advantageous

  • 1 Year retail experience
  • Certification in Retail Business Management

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure shelves are fully stocked and neatly presented
  • Restock merchandise to maximise sales
  • Monitor stock sell-by dates
  • Assist customers with product enquiries
  • Process cash, card, voucher and other payments
  • Handle customer returns and exchanges when authorised
  • Process loyalty card transactions
  • Assist with stock counts and stocktaking
  • Report damaged, expired or low stock to management
  • Assist with loading and offloading stock
  • Maintain housekeeping standards
  • Ensure correct pricing and merchandising displays
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service
  • Assist with training new staff members
  • Adhere to company policies and health and safety procedures
