About the General Worker Role at Shell Shell South Africa is recruiting General Workers to support daily operations across its fuel depots, terminals, and manufacturing facilities.

This entry-level role involves performing manual labour, cleaning, loading/offloading, basic maintenance support, and ensuring a safe, clean working environment. It is ideal for physically fit, reliable individuals with Grade 10–12 who are safety-conscious and willing to work shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loading and offloading of products and materials
  • Cleaning of work areas, tanks, equipment, and facilities
  • Assisting with basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks
  • Supporting operations teams with general duties
  • Adhering to strict Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards
  • Performing any ad-hoc tasks as required by supervisors

Requirements

  • Grade 10 – 12 (Matric is advantageous)
  • South African citizen
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
  • Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver’s licence (Code 10/14 with PDP is advantageous for some roles)
  • Previous warehouse/depot experience is an advantage
