About the Role We are seeking a diligent and proactive Hotel Security Officer to join our hospitality team. In this role, you will focus on ensuring the safety and security of our guests, staff, and property within a hotel environment. You will play a vital part in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere while effectively managing safety protocols and addressing any security concerns.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol the hotel premises to detect and prevent suspicious activities or potential security breaches
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
• Conduct regular inspections of security equipment and systems, ensuring they are functioning correctly at all times
• Implement and enforce hotel policies and emergency procedures to ensure a safe environment for both guests and staff
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with questions and providing information about hotel services
• Collaborate with hotel management and staff to provide security briefings and training sessions
• Document incidents, report any irregularities, and maintain detailed records of all activities
• Assist in the investigation of reported incidents and provide support in creating a safer hotel environment

Requirements

• Proven experience in a security role, preferably within the hospitality industry or a similar environment
• Presentable appearance and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid PSIRA certificate
• Familiarity with security systems, surveillance equipment, and safety protocols

Location Note Cape Town, Western Cape – suitable for candidates based in the greater Cape Town area. Public transport is available, but own reliable transport is recommended for shift work.
