Job Description
The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for its CA Trainee Programme. This is a 36-month fixed-term programme designed to provide aspiring Chartered Accountants with structured practical training and experience within the Corporation.
The programme provides successful candidates with an opportunity to serve their articles while developing the competencies and experience required for a career as a Chartered Accountant.

About the CA Trainee Programme
The purpose of the CA Learnership is to provide potential Chartered Accountants with an opportunity to serve their articles within IDC.
Successful candidates will receive formal training through practical experience and a structured programme. The programme also contributes towards developing future highly qualified Chartered Accountants in South Africa.
Qualification and Experience
To qualify for the SAICA Trainee Programme, applicants must have completed or currently be enrolled in a SAICA-accredited programme that allows entry into the SAICA Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC) in January 2027.
Applicants must have one of the following:
- Certificate in Theory of Accounting (CTA)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting
- Honours Degree in Accounting
- An equivalent qualification allowing entry into the SAICA IAC
Candidates applying from other training offices must have passed the SAICA IAC to be considered.
Candidates currently completing CTA Level 1 or BCTA (Bridging Course to CTA) are not eligible to apply.
