Limpopo Department of Health Recruiting 1,244 EPWP General Workers Across Clinics, Hospitals and Health Facilities
The Limpopo Department of Health is inviting unemployed South Africans to apply for 1,244 Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) General Worker positions available across Primary Health Care Facilities, Hospitals, Nursing Campuses, Emergency Medical Services, and District Offices throughout Limpopo Province.
Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend and gain valuable workplace experience in healthcare support services, cleaning, porter duties, laundry services, mortuary services, and ward assistance.

Positions are available at clinics, community health centres, hospitals, nursing campuses, district offices and emergency medical services facilities throughout Limpopo Province.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- A minimum of ABET qualification
The following will be an added advantage:
- Exposure to a hospital environment
- Experience in patient care
Knowledge and Skills
Applicants should have:
- Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993
- Good communication skills
- Customer care skills
- Knowledge of waste management practices
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be willing and able to:
- Lift persons of varying weights
- Move heavy equipment and supplies
- Work with heavy-duty laundry and cleaning equipment
- Handle human excreta, body fluids and blood
- Handle corpses where required
- Operate lawnmowers and weed eaters
- Stand for extended periods
- Work shifts, weekends and public holidays
- Work overtime when operationally required
Key Performance Areas
Successful candidates may be assigned to one or more of the following functions:
Porter
- Transport patients using wheelchairs and stretchers
- Transfer patients between wards and departments
- Transport corpses to the mortuary
- Clean and maintain wheelchairs and stretchers
Laundry Aid
- Receive and dispatch clean and soiled linen
- Record linen movement accurately
- Operate laundry equipment
- Maintain laundry hygiene standards
- Comply with infection prevention measures
Mortuary Attendant
- Receive and store corpses
- Prepare and transport corpses
- Maintain mortuary records
- Clean mortuary equipment and facilities
- Ensure infection control standards are maintained
Ward Attendant
- Assist with ward housekeeping functions
- Perform cleaning duties
- Assist with sluice and sanitation functions
Cleaner
- Clean offices, passages and ablution facilities
- Empty waste bins
- Collect and dispose of waste
- Maintain cleanliness of healthcare facilities
