Job Description
Life Beacon Bay Hospital is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join its Engineering function. The successful candidate will assist with maintaining, inspecting and performing basic work on electrical and air-conditioning systems, plumbing, structural improvements and general maintenance.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12
- 2 years maintenance experience
- Proof of competency in any two of the following fields:
- Electrical
- Building
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
- Glazing
- Welding
- Tiling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in dealing with customers
- Ability to work under pressure
Key Responsibilities
The Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for:
- Restoration and repairs of buildings and equipment
- Risk management and completion of daily checklists
- Completing daily job cards and providing feedback
- Participating in SHEQ procedures
- Fault finding
- Performing basic system settings to ensure continuous system availability
- Executing repairs and tasks according to job cards and Supervisor instructions
- Inspecting and checking building structures and facilities according to the preventative maintenance programme
- Supporting general maintenance activities
