About the Motus Finance & Insurance Trainee Programme

Motus Retail is looking for a motivated, customer-focused and commercially minded Trainee: Finance & Insurance to join its dealership network on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The successful candidate will gain practical experience while learning from experienced F&I professionals.

Trainees will be exposed to the full F&I process, including vehicle finance applications, customer engagement, value-added products, administration, compliance and deal processing.

The successful candidate will also participate in relevant workplace learning and development activities throughout the 12-month contract.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• South African citizenship.
• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Management Accounting or a related field.
• Valid South African driver’s licence.
• Computer literacy, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Job Purpose

The Trainee: Finance & Insurance will support the F&I team in managing finance and insurance processes relating to vehicle sales while gaining practical knowledge and experience of the F&I environment.

The role provides structured workplace learning and exposure to finance and insurance products, customer service, regulatory requirements, dealership processes and relationships with finance houses and insurance providers.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies required to progress towards a career in Finance & Insurance.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Insurance Support

• Assist with the preparation and submission of finance applications.
• Learn and develop an understanding of vehicle finance structures and finance house requirements.
• Gain exposure to finance and insurance products and value-added products (VAPs).
• Develop an understanding of how F&I products contribute to dealership profitability.

Customer Experience

• Assist with providing customers with a professional and welcoming F&I experience.
• Develop strong customer service and relationship-management skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with customer information.

Compliance & Governance

The trainee will develop an understanding of the regulatory environment applicable to F&I within the automotive retail industry, including:

• National Credit Act (NCA)
• Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS) Act
• Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA)
• Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
• Consumer Protection Act (CPA)
• Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles
• OEM standards and dealership policies

The trainee will also assist with maintaining accurate and complete customer and deal documentation and complete all required training and development activities during the programme.

Administration

• Assist with preparing finance and insurance documentation accurately and timeously.
• Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
• Perform general administrative duties relating to the F&I function.

Relationship Management

Develop positive working relationships with:

• Customers
• Sales Executives
• Sales Managers
• Dealer Principal
• Finance and insurance providers
