Job Description

The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) invites applications from unemployed candidates to apply for a twelve (12) months Learnership Programme.

The programme integrates practical, theory and includes both structured work experience and structured learning with an accredited training provider – leading to a South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) accredited qualification. Upon completion of the programme, learners will receive a certificate accredited by the Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality, and Sport Sector Education and Training Authority (CATHSSETA).

Successful applicants will be placed in one of the following Nature Reserves based on the area of residence:

• Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve – 02
• Verloren Valei Nature Reserve – 02
• Songimvelo Nature Reserve – 02
• Barberton Nature Reserve – 01
• Mahushe Shongwe Nature Reserve – 01
• Mthethomusha Nature Reserve – 01
• Nooitgedacht Dam Nature Reserve – 01
• Mdala Nature Reserve – 01
• Loskop Dam Nature Reserve – 02
• Mkhombo Nature Reserve – 01
• Mabusa Nature Reserve – 01
• SS Skosana Nature Reserve – 01
• Manyeleti Nature Reserve – 02
• Andover Nature Reserve – 01
• Ohrigstad Dam Nature Reserve – 01

• Dr Esther Mahlangu and Kgodwana Cultural Village – 02

Qualifying Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be unemployed South Africans between the ages of 18 and 35 years
• Must have Grade 12
• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Attach an ID copy
• Must be interested in working outdoors and doing practical work
• Valid Proof of residence
• Must be residing in the Mpumalanga Province
• Not studying at any tertiary institution
• Not registered and or participated in any other learnerships
