Job Description

Engen Limited is recruiting a Network Developer based in Durban. The position focuses on network planning, commercial negotiations, property development and project management to maintain and grow Engen’s network of convenience centres and service stations.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • NQF Level 7 Degree in Commerce, Law, Finance, Property Studies, Urban Planning or related
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • 6 years’ experience in Commercial Negotiations or Project Management
  • Experience in securing tenure for clients in a property portfolio
  • Knowledge of preparing, monitoring and reviewing annual plans and budgets within designated geography
  • Sound understanding of property investment economics
  • Experience in assessing opportunities and making recommendations on investments
  • Experience working with construction teams to ensure optimum project delivery

Advantageous

  • 5 years’ Engen Retail experience
  • 3 years’ experience with legal contracts, including briefing, interpretation and compliance

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Facilitate and participate in network planning processes
  • Establish short- and medium-term development plans
  • Manage security of tenure for Engen service stations
  • Maintain relationships with service station landlords
  • Administer existing contracts and renegotiate expiring agreements
  • Identify property development opportunities
  • Conduct market and site-specific research
  • Perform feasibility studies and calculate project returns
  • Submit proposals for revitalisation, upgrading or redevelopment of facilities
  • Appoint and manage professionals required for development approvals
  • Coordinate project managers, professionals, contractors and external stakeholders
  • Ensure developments are completed according to approvals and budgets

Working Conditions
