Job Overview

Trans Ocean Liquid Technologies (TOLT), part of the Deutsche Post DHL Group, is recruiting an Operations Shipping Clerk to join its Cape Town operations. The successful candidate will coordinate and manage import, export and cross-trade shipping activities while ensuring compliance with customs requirements and supporting daily logistics operations.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Diploma in Business Administration or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing, operations or sales, preferably in a junior account management or operations environment
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Good problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Processing invoices using X3 and Pastel
  • Coordinating import, export and airfreight shipments
  • Booking shipments with shipping lines
  • Preparing packing lists and shipping documentation
  • Managing customs documentation and acquittal files
  • Assisting with VAT claim documentation
  • Applying for import permits
  • Monitoring import schedules and coordinating deliveries
  • Arranging courier shipments and tracking deliveries
  • Assisting with stock control and month-end processes
  • Supporting the operations, dispatch and finance teams when required
