Educational Requirements

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Transportation

• Transport patients using wheelchairs, beds and trolleys
• Accompany patients between wards and departments
• Assist ambulatory and walking patients

Equipment Handling

• Assist with moving medical equipment
• Collect and return wheelchairs and trolleys
• Maintain hospital transport equipment

Mortuary Support

• Assist with the removal of bodies from wards
• Perform related duties in accordance with hospital procedures

General Support Services

• Support supervisors with operational duties
• Assist with administrative tasks
• Ensure hospital support services run efficiently
