RCL Foods is recruiting for a driven, highly energized and numerically focused Cashier within the Baking business unit. The successful candidate will provide accounting support and assist with financial transactions, cash handling and related processing.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • NQF Level 4/5 / Matric
  • 1 year experience in a credit control and cash handling environment
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Previous experience with JDE or an ERP system will be advantageous

Duties & Responsibilities

Daily Receipts Processing

  • Receive and process credit notes and discounts, ensuring documents have been authorised.
  • Count all cash from drivers under the view of the camera system and capture it on the Driver Cash Up spreadsheet.
  • Follow up on shortages and gather reasons for driver shortages, which must be reported within 24 hours.
  • Contact the Driver/Driver Supervisor to identify reasons for short payment.
  • Receipt cash up into the drivers’ JDE customer account.
  • Process authorised petty cash payments.
  • Issue petty cash for authorised casual wage expenditure.

General Processing

  • Maintain the filing system.
  • Order and issue company pre-printed stationery.

Cash Handling

  • Accurately count cash and reconcile daily banking.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of the cash vault machine.
