About the Internship

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • BSc or BSc (Hons) in Food Science or equivalent qualification

OR

  • National Diploma or BTech in Food Technology or equivalent qualification

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful interns will assist with:

Product Development and Innovation

  • Assisting with development of new products
  • Testing alternative ingredients
  • Conducting shelf-life tests
  • Competitor benchmarking
  • Supporting tasting sessions
  • Assisting with customer presentations

Quality Assessments

  • Conducting texture and softness tests
  • Performing volume and water activity tests
  • Interpreting quality assessment data

Administration and Reporting

  • Maintaining sample registers
  • Recording laboratory trial data
  • Recording recipe revisions
  • Compiling bakery and shelf-life reports

Knowledge Requirements
