About the SAB Sales & Marketing Learnership

The purpose of the role is to implement a market-driven differentiated service that builds sustainable competitiveness within the Tavern Class of Trade.

The learnership focuses on supporting sustainable growth in brand equity, sales volume, market share, competitive advantage and corporate reputation.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Diploma or Degree
  • Valid unendorsed Code 8 driver’s license
  • Basic computer literacy and experience working with Microsoft Office
  • Local area knowledge
  • Ability to work in a flexible working environment, including weekends
  • Successful completion of a drivers’ assessment test to demonstrate competency prior to appointment

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for supporting sales and marketing activities, including:

  • Managing and building customer relationships with tavern owners
  • Driving weekly customer calls per outlet
  • Ensuring customer master data is current, correct and maintained
  • Achieving customer sales and volume targets
  • Ensuring outlets buy directly from SAB consistently on a weekly basis
  • Monitoring product volumes and availability
  • Managing stock rotation and quality
  • Supporting merchandising, pricing and promotional campaigns
  • Managing SAB refrigeration assets and other assets in outlets
  • Conducting asset verification surveys
  • Assisting customers with stock replenishment and minimising stock-outs
  • Executing Availability, Merchandising, Price, Promotions and Space plans
