Job Description

The is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for five Driver vacancies within the Presidential Protection Service. This government driving opportunity is available in Pretoria, Cape Town, and Durban.

Driver Vacancy Details

Available Centres

• Pretoria (HQ) – 3 Posts (Post No: PPS 08/2026)
• Cape Town – 1 Post (Post No: PPS 09/2026)
• Durban – 1 Post (Post No: PPS 10/2026)

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 10 / Standard 8 / NCV Level 2 (NQF Level 2)
• South African citizenship
• At least 2 years relevant driving experience
• Valid light motor vehicle driver’s licence
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
• Be proficient in English and at least one other official language

Required Skills and Competencies

Candidates should possess:

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• High levels of integrity
• Reliability
• Punctuality
• Willingness to work extended hours when required

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Transporting personnel, equipment and vehicles
• Maintaining allocated government vehicles
• Completing logbooks and monthly vehicle returns
• Booking vehicles for servicing and repairs
• Protecting confidential information in accordance with MISS requirements
