Learnership Disciplines

Successful applicants will train towards becoming qualified artisans in one of the following trades:

• Diesel Mechanic
• Auto Electrician

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and Physical Science with a minimum E Symbol (40%)
  OR
• Minimum N2 qualification with four relevant trade-related subjects
• Relevant trade theory subjects for the discipline applied for

Diesel Mechanic

• Mathematics
• Engineering Science
• Engineering Drawing
• Diesel or Motor Trade Theory

Auto Electrician

• Mathematics
• Engineering Science
• Industrial Electronics
• Electrical Trade Theory

Applicants must also:

• Achieve a minimum 40% (E Symbol) in the required subjects
• Be willing to undergo psychometric assessments
• Be prepared to work shifts, standby duties and call-outs
• Be able to work under pressure
• Be innovative and self-motivated
• Be able to identify faults independently
• Be medically fit or able to obtain a Certificate of Fitness
• Have a valid K53 Driver’s Licence
• Have no criminal record

Advantageous

The following will be an added advantage:

• Previous experience in the mining industry
