Servest Safety Officer Jobs 2026 – Secunda | Grade 12 Required

Job Description

Servest is recruiting a Safety Officer for its Servest Security business unit in Secunda, Mpumalanga. This is a contract position within Operations, reporting to the Contract Manager.

The position requires Matric / Grade 12, a relevant Health and Safety qualification, SAMTRAC or NOSA certification, and previous Safety Officer experience in a mining environment.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Matric / Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Health and Safety qualification or relevant qualification
• SAMTRAC or NOSA certificates
• 3–5 years’ experience as a Safety Officer in a mining environment
• Experience and knowledge of the MHSA and OHS Act
• Audit and incident-investigation experience
• PSIRA Grade A certificate
• No criminal record or pending cases
• Be medically fit
• Valid driver’s licence
• Own reliable transport
• Be based in the Secunda area
• Be prepared to work underground

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Safety Officer will:

• Conduct weekly checks and updates on all site safety files
• Audit Servest subcontractors’ safety files monthly
• Attend monthly safety meetings
• Upload meeting minutes and investigations to the SHEQ X platform
• Regularly visit posts and conduct PTO on Servest members
• Ensure compliance with client safety standards
• Attend monthly SHE meetings with Servest SHE representatives
• Maintain meeting minutes for auditing purposes
• Respond to safety incidents
• Conduct incident investigations
• Submit preliminary reports until investigations are finalised
• Work closely with the Contract Manager and Accounts Operations Executive – Mining
