 About the Role

The successful candidate will support milling operations through housekeeping, sampling, maintenance support, sieve making and general production duties to ensure safe, hygienic and efficient plant operations.

The role also involves supporting food safety standards, quality control and operational activities within the milling plant.

 Key Responsibilities

Sampling & Quality Control

Sample wheat and flour according to procedures

Label and submit samples for laboratory testing

Ensure sample traceability

Report contamination, leakages or abnormalities

Housekeeping & Cleaning

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Perform housekeeping inspections

Clean plant machinery and equipment

Support hygiene and food safety standards

Production Support

Assist with daily milling operations

Pick up and mix back chokes

Assist with sieve making

Support shutdowns and production changeovers

Maintenance Assistance

Support maintenance and production teams

Identify equipment faults or abnormalities

Assist with autonomous maintenance activities

Bin Crew & Operational Relief

Provide relief support for bin crew

Assist with stock monitoring and bin dipping

Support material handling and intake operations

Shift Work

Work rotating shifts

Work weekends, public holidays and overtime when required

 Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric

Valid Code B driver’s licence

Experience

Minimum 1 year operational or manufacturing experience preferred

Milling or food manufacturing experience will be advantageous

Ability to work under pressure

Teamwork and communication skills

Willingness to learn and multitask

Understanding of hygiene and safety standards

Ability to work shifts and overtime
