Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) / Grade 9 (Std 7)
• Appropriate CSSD sterilisation and disinfection experience in a hospital environment

Inherent Job Requirements

Candidates must be willing to:

• Work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and night duty
• Work overtime when required
• Perform relief duties according to operational needs
• Lift and push heavy equipment

Knowledge and Skills Required

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

• Knowledge of sterilisation, decontamination, and infection control procedures
• Understanding of CSSD equipment such as autoclaves and gas sterilisation systems
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of hospital health and safety regulations

Key Responsibilities

Sterilisation and Infection Control

• Perform sterilisation and decontamination procedures
• Pack and sterilise surgical instruments and linen supplies
• Promote infection prevention and health and safety compliance

Equipment Maintenance and Support

• Clean, maintain, and test sterilisation equipment
• Ensure autoclaves and washing machines remain in good working condition
• Assist in reporting and investigating damaged or lost equipment

Stock and Resource Management

• Monitor and maintain stock levels
• Use consumables and resources cost-effectively
• Support operational efficiency within the CSSD department
