Job Overview

The Department of Tourism is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for three Supply Chain Clerk: Asset Management positions on a six-month fixed-term contract. This opportunity is suitable for Grade 12 graduates interested in asset management, inventory control, logistics, and supply chain administration.


Minimum Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Asset Movement and Control

  • Physically move furniture and equipment within the office
  • Receive and process requests for movement of furniture and equipment
  • Complete Asset Movement Forms (BAMV)
  • Ensure assets are moved to the correct locations

Asset Administration

  • Update the asset register
  • Print and maintain inventory control sheets
  • File asset movement documentation
  • Maintain accurate asset records

Verification and Spot Checks

  • Conduct daily spot checks
  • Perform quarterly asset verification exercises
  • Assist with physical asset inspections
  • Monitor compliance with asset management procedures

Asset Disposal

  • Compile lists of redundant and obsolete assets
  • Prepare disposal files for disposal committee meetings
  • Assist with physical disposal of approved assets
  • Update records after disposal

Asset Maintenance

  • Barcode assets
  • Replace damaged or missing barcodes
  • Perform minor repairs on damaged assets
  • Update asset records following maintenance

Waste Management

  • Conduct random waste inspections
  • Remove wastepaper within the building
  • Support environmental and housekeeping initiatives
