Tertiary Bursary Programme – Refineries 2027 Impala Platinum Refineries Location: Springs, Gauteng Programme Type: Full-Time Tertiary Bursary (Intake 2027) Closing Date: 31 August 2026
Programme Overview Impala Platinum Refineries is offering a Tertiary Bursary Programme for high-performing Grade 12 learners who aspire to build a career in engineering and science. This bursary provides financial support for full-time studies, combined with vacation work experience at the Refineries, to develop future talent in the mining and refining industry.
Fields of Study Supported (NQF Level 7 – Degree)
- Electrical Engineering (Preferably Heavy Current)
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering / Metallurgical Engineering
- Chemistry

Minimum Requirements
- Currently in Grade 12
- Mathematics: Minimum 60% (Level 5)
- English: Minimum 60% (Level 5)
- Physical Science: Minimum 60% (Level 5)
- South African citizen

- Conditional acceptance letter from a recognised university
Preference Scholars from Eastern Ekurhuleni, Ward 72, and schools surrounding the operation will be given preference.
Location Note Springs, Gauteng – approximately 50km east of Johannesburg. Ideal for candidates in the East Rand (Ekurhuleni) area. Vacation work will be based at the Refineries in Springs.
