Requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: A qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant.
  • Registration: Must be registered with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
  • Experience:
    • Grade 1: None required.
    • Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years’ experience after registration as a Nursing Assistant.
    • Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years’ experience after registration as a Nursing Assistant.

Duties:

  • For NCDOH 137/2024:
    • Provide elementary nursing care according to the scope of practice and standards.
    • Implement basic patient care plans.
    • Rotate through departments and perform night duty as needed.
    • Maintain professional growth and ethical standards.
    • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care.
  • For NCDOH 138/2024:
    • Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide physical care.
    • Provide elementary clinical nursing care.
    • Effectively utilize resources and maintain professional growth and ethical standards.
